What is copy editing and why do I need it?

Copy editing is the step between developmental (macro) editing and proofreading (catching final typos and polishing the final draft).

It looks at sentence structure, voice, tone, and word choice to improve readability, but can also delve into the small details that can make a big difference.

I won’t tell you to change your characters or adjust major plot points, but I’ll catch small details that don’t track or suggest small edits to support your story
